mini-critters always has a
nice variety of cages
for small animals in stock
CagesThe first thing to know about small animals, especially rodents, is that they are often escape artists. A rat or gerbil can squeeze through spaces that you wouldn't believe they could get through by looking at them. They are very persistent and will work at any opening for long periods of time looking for a weak point. In addition, rodents teeth continue to grow, like our fingernails, and they need to chew and gnaw to keep them under control. Their urge to chew will have them trying just about anything they can get their mouth on and they can cut through wood and plastic very easily...

We also have climbing toys and tunnels to hide in. Bring home a new toy for you little critter! Chewing TreatsRodents and rabbits have one important need: to chew. Their teeth are more like our fingernails in that they keep growing and growing all through their life. If they aren't kept short, the animal can't close it's mouth and they could starve to death. In the wild, they would naturally wear their teeth down as they go aobut scavenging for food. In a cage, it's up to you to provide the chew toys. We've got a good variety of different things to chew on. Having several in their cage will also help keep them from chewing on the cage itself or their dish or water bottle.
