We have everything you need to create near-perfect sea water

Aquariums come in two basic kinds: Freshwater and Saltwater.

In years past, when setting up a freshwater aquarium you would add tap water to an aquarium and put in drops to neutralize the chlorine that is added to drinking water.  Today, mini-critters has a large reverse-osmosis system (it's called R-O Water by hobbyists) to purify the water we use in our in-store aquariums.  Using R-O water makes setting up your aquarium a snap, and you can get it directly from us.

The same thing has happened with saltwater...

It used to be that saltwater enthusiasts had to create their own formulas for their water. It was hit or miss in many cases and successful saltwater aquariums were hard to manage. Scientists have spent a lot of time studying the water in the ocean, and a number of companies have developed easy to use chemical packages to recreate the ocean's precise makeup.  Using our R-O water as a base, we can provide you with nearly perfect sea water to use in your saltwater tank.  We also have easy to use chemical packets if you want to do it on your own.

Another thing that many hobbyists keep on hand is a water test kit.  The best kits allow you to test you for several important water conditions from PH to ammonia and nitrate balances.  mini-critters can also perform tests on a sample of water you bring into the store and give you ideas on how to solve any problems we find.
